We're in the NEWS!

Our work applying PRM-based motion planning techniques to problems in computational biology has been attracting some attention.

• Our project was featured in the NSF CISE quarterly newletter in September 2002. For the most part clear and well-written. More citations and related work are needed so that reader can better understand the contribution.

• BBC World used one of our protein folding animations in David Jamieson's Grand Challenges article on August 1, 2002.

• Our work with protein folding was featured in the November 2001 issue of Genome Technology. Check out Aaron Sender's article which has some witty words describing the relationship between robotic motion planning and protein folding and a picture of PhD student Guang Song and Nancy.

• In May 2001 our work studying ligand binding (aka drug docking) using a haptic interface (a PHANToM) was included as part of a FOX news feature on Artificial Intelligence inspired by the recent hollywood movie of that name. In the movie clip you can see PhD student O. Burchan Bayazit manipulating the PHANToM while Nancy looks on.
