Project Assignment #1
Due: Tuesday October 22 in class. (Worth 5% of project grade.)
The goal of the project is to study in depth some issue related to motion planning. Projects may range from:
The purpose of this assignment is to get you started on selecting a topic for your project. You should decide which type of project you would like to do (of the three listed above) and propose two to three possible topics. Don't worry about being too specific at this point, the goal is to get you thinking about what you want to do. Also, you will not be obligated to make your final selection from this list.
You should turn in a brief description of two or three possible projects (e.g., 1 page total). Your write-up should be produced on a computer using some text processor, and you should check it for spelling and English. A portion of your grade, for this and future project assignments, will be on presentation.
Groups. If you would like to work in groups for your project, you should coordinate with each other on this assignment (you can turn in a single copy for the group). Remember, however, when proposing your project that more will be expected from a group than an individual.
Finally, let me know if you are interested in working with others for the project but do not have a group. I can try to match you with others that are interested in similar issues. This can also be done after this phase of the project.
