Thasia Madison is a DREU summer research intern in the Computer Science & Engineering Department at Texas A&M University for Summer 2009. She is currently an Undergraduate Senior Computer Science major in the Computer Science Department at Prairie View A&M University. Her expected graduation date is December 2010. She will be working on the Motion Planning Project, researching possible improvements to the Unsupervised Adaptive Strategy (UAS).
Her mentor, Dr. Nancy Amato , is widely known for her research accomplishments in the areas of Computational Biology, Motion Planning, Animation and Robotics, and Parallel and Distributed Computing. Dr. Amato works in the Parasol Labs at Texas A&M University.
Her supervisor, Lydia Tapia, is a Ph. D. student in the Parasol Labs working on the Motion Planning Project. Her research interests include: motion planning, robotics, computational biology, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.
