Howdy, I am a Junior Computer Science Major here at Texas A&M University. I am planning on graduating in May 2011. I am currently doing Undergraduate Research under Dr. Nancy Amato, working on simulating Group Behaviors.
My faculty advisor is Dr. Nancy Amato. She works in the Parasol Labs here in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University. She has research interests in Computational Biology, Motion Planning, Animation and Robotics, Parallel and Distributed Computing.
My graduate student mentor is Philip Coleman. He is a Ph. D. student in the parasol labs currently working on the Group Behaviors Project. His other research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Multiagent Systems, and Motion Planning.
This summer my research will be focused on finding an intelligent way to partition a roadmap of an environment. This environment can be in the 2D or 3D space. I must take into account obstacles and empty spaces in the environment in order to accomplish the partitioning task.
