Bjarne Stroustrup Festschrift: Local Arrangements

Local Arrangements

The workshop technical sessions will be held on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. College Station is about 90 miles northwest of Houston (1.5 hours driving from IAH, Houston's Intercontinental airport), about 110 miles east of Austin (2 hours driving from AUS, Austin's airport), and about 180 miles south of Dallas (3 hours driving from DFW, the Dallas/Fort Worth airport).

We will be arranging carpooling/rides for participants staying at the workshop hotel to/from the various events (opening reception, technical sessions and the banquet). Information on that will be emailed to participants. Let us know at bjarnefest [at] if you have any questions.

Hotel Information

Blocks of hotel rooms have been reserved for workshop attendees at a local hotel, Hawthorn Suites by Wyndam. We ask you to please stay at the conference hotel in our room block so we can be sure to meet our obligation. The group rate has been negotiated for the nights of Thursday April 26, Friday April 27, and Saturday April 28. The hotel will also offer the workshop rate for Wednesday April 25 or Sunday April 29 if space is available. The hotel is located about 1 mile from campus. It has free parking and hotel shuttles for transportation to/from the College Station airport and to/from campus. We will be setting up a schedule for the shuttle to correspond with the workshop schedule. Please contact us at bjarnefest [at] if you have questions about or problems with the hotel reservation.

Airport Information

College Station's Easterwood airport (airport code CLL, actually on the Texas A&M campus) is serviced by Continental Connection from Houston (airport code IAH, 20 minute flight) and American Eagle from Dallas (airport code DFW, 40 minute flight).

Driving Directions and Campus Parking Information
