As multicore machines have become common goods, a nagging question
has grown persistent: How can scientific software best spend Moore's dividend?
How can we increase the productivity of users and producers of
scientific software? Can we develop programming models that match
the scale of the challenge?
Motivation and Importance
High productivity of programmers and users of scientific computation
systems is a fundamental challenge in the era of widespread modern multicore
machines. This track welcomes contributions in the area of programming
language supports and programming frameworks
for high productivity in scientific software, including (but not limited to)
optimization, verification, static analysis, program transformation,
runtime systems etc.
